High-density polyethylene is a high-maintenance problem—literally. Once it clogs your process lines, you typically face a cumbersome cleanup process. As a result of an unexpected power failure, one particular customer in Mexico had to contend with hundreds of feet of the stubborn material. Clearing the lines would require disassembly into 10-20-foot sections of 12-inch pipe, accompanied by tediously ineffective hydroblasting—adding up to a month of expensive downtime our customer didn’t have.
Hydrokinetics was able to break down the process lines into 70-foot sections, safely and completely cleaning each section at an average of five minutes each. The facility was back up and running in six days.
