HYDROKINETIC CLEANING
Advanced Hydroblasting Solution
Industrial Hydroblasting Services for Effective Fouling & Deposit Removal
Industrial equipment fouling is one of the most persistent and costly challenges in refining, petrochemical processing, power generation, and manufacturing. When heat exchangers plug, tubes coke up, or lines scale over, facilities suffer reduced throughput, elevated energy costs, unplanned shutdowns, and shortened asset life. Traditional hydroblasting and mechanical cleaning can address surface-level deposits, but they often fall short when dealing with the truly tenacious foulants that accumulate in complex systems—and they carry significant safety risks for operators.
Hydrokinetics has developed a fundamentally different approach. Our patented Hydrokinetic Cleaning process introduces sonic resonance into the high-pressure water stream, breaking the molecular bond between the foulant and the equipment surface before the water jet even makes contact. The result is a cleaning method that is faster, safer, gentler on equipment, and more effective on fully plugged or difficult-to-access systems than anything the industry has seen before.
Backed by decades of field experience across Texas, Louisiana, and major industrial facilities worldwide, Hydrokinetics is the partner facilities turn to when conventional methods have failed.
What Is Hydrokinetic Cleaning?
Hydrokinetic Cleaning is a proprietary process that harnesses sonic resonance to enhance the cleaning power of ultra-high-pressure water. Unlike traditional hydroblasting, which relies purely on the mechanical force of a water jet impacting a surface, our Hydrokinetic process modulates the water stream so that it vibrates at a frequency that matches the resonant frequency of the fouling material. This causes the foulant to loosen at a structural level and separate it from the tube wall, vessel interior, or pipe surface, before it is expelled by the water flow.
The process is delivered through Hydrokinetics’ proprietary Rotating Lance Cleaning System and Specialty Hydroblasters. Equipment operates between 20,000 and 40,000 PSI, and the rotating lance spins at up to 300 RPM to achieve uniform, single-pass cleaning across every tube in a bundle. The entire system is remotely operated, so technicians work from a safe distance behind a simplified control console rather than directly handling high-pressure equipment.
At Hydrokinetics, we use a specialized hydroblasting equipment designed to safely and efficiently remove fouling and deposits that continually accumulate in industrial process equipment. This advanced technology cleans deposits from exchangers, towers and vessels, lines and sewers, and contaminated surfaces.
How It Works
The Sound Behind
Hydrokinetic Cleaning
Our patented Hydrokinetic Cleaning process induces sonic resonance in the water stream. It safely breaks the bond between the equipment and fouling material, allowing the obstruction to be easily expelled.
Equipment & Technology
Hydrokinetics deploys a purpose-built fleet of specialized cleaning equipment that combines automation, precision, and power:
- Specialty hydroblasters (20,000-40,000 PSI) Fully automated units ebengineered to remove the most stubborn foulants, including crystalized coke, lime-scale, hardened conglomerate, and rock-solid biological deposits.
- Rotating Lance Cleaning System: Remotely operated, self-rotating lances that clean tube bundles in a single pass at up to 300 RPM. They deliver consistent cleaning across every tube without operator exposure to the water stream.
- Automated Control Consoles: Simplified interfaces that allow a technician to monitor and adjust the cleaning process in real time from a safe standoff distance.
- Custom Tooling for Complex Geometries: For curved headers, irregular passageways, or confined spaces, Hydrokinetics engineers custom cleaning attachments to reach surfaces that standard lances cannot access.
Applications & Industries Served
Hydrokinetic Cleaning has been successfully deployed across a wide range of industrial applications, including:
- Heat exchangers (shell-and-tube, plate, air-cooled)
- Fired heater tubes and furnace coils
- Condenser and reboiler tubes
- Process vessels and reactors
- Pipeline interiors and sewers
- Municipal water and wastewater infrastructure

Why Choose Hydrokinetics
Hydrokinetics is the only industrial services company in the world that offers patented Hydrokinetic Cleaning technology. Our team combines deep technical expertise with a zero-incident safety record and the operational flexibility to mobilize quickly across Texas, Louisiana, the Gulf Coast, and international locations. We have tackled some of the most “hopeless” fouling scenarios in the industry—fully plugged exchangers declared unsalvageable by other contractors—and returned them to full service.
We are trusted by major refineries, petrochemical plants, offshore operators, chemical manufacturers, and government facilities because we deliver results when other methods cannot. Our equipment is owned and maintained in-house, our technicians are fully trained and continuously certified, and our project management team ensures every job is completed safely, on time, and within scope.
Blasting Through the
Toughest Foulant Issues
From crystalized coke, to lime-plugged tubes and rock-hard conglomerate, we have a history of overcoming some of the industry’s most hopeless scenarios. Our technology has been used successfully in a variety of applications, including:
- Plastics
- Refining
- Municipal
- Chemical
- Offshore
- Petrochemical
- Manufacturing
- Government facilities
Power without the risk
Our Specialty Hydroblasters deliver 20,000 to 40,000 psi. And everything’s automated, eliminating operator exposure to high-pressure streams. With a simplified control console, the technician can work at a safe distance, avoiding fatigue and focusing squarely on the task at hand.
Hydrokinetics’ Rotating Lance Cleaning System uniformly cleans tubes in a single pass by utilizing a 20-40,000 psi spray rotating at up to 300 rpm. Also remote-controlled, it can finish a job safer and in 40-50 percent of the time it takes over traditional hydro and mechanical methods. The surface integrity is preserved and no residue is left behind.
Frequently Asked Questions
Polymer deposits, calcium scale, biological fouling, corrosion products, crystallized coke, and rock-hard conglomerate. We have restored equipment that other cleaning methods could not. If you are dealing with a fouling problem that has resisted conventional approaches, call us at 409-945-5414 and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you if we can help.
Yes. The cleaning pressure required is lower and more controlled than conventional hydroblasting. We have cleaned aging exchangers, thin-walled tubes, and titanium bundles without surface damage. If equipment condition is a concern on your project, we can walk through our approach with your engineering team before mobilization.
40-50% faster on average. A job that takes a conventional crew 3 shifts, we typically finish in 1. That means shorter turnaround windows, less mechanical days, and faster return to production. Call us with your scope and we can estimate your time savings.
Yes. This is one of the most common reasons plants call us. We have cleaned exchangers with 100% tube blockage that other contractors walked away from. Every fouling situation is different, so give us a call and describe what you are dealing with. 409-945-5414.
The standard process uses water only — no solvents, no surfactants, no chemical waste to manage. For applications where fluid compatibility is a concern, we can run alternative fluids matched to your process requirements. Call us and we can discuss what works best for your equipment. 409-945-5414.
